About us
A Detroit company,
working in Detroit.
Metro Interiors and Design LLC works out of 19735 James Couzens, in the northwest of the city. The houses around here are older, the windows come in odd sizes, and the walls have had a hundred years of ideas in them already.
That is the whole reason we start at the window with a tape measure instead of a catalog. A treatment ordered off a standard size chart fits a standard window, and there are not many of those left in this city. The same goes for cabinets that no longer sit level, and basements that were never meant to be lived in until somebody decided they should be.
We do five things — window treatments, blinds and shades, kitchen cabinets, basement finishing and bathrooms — and we do them in the neighborhoods around us. Keeping the work close means the person who quoted your job is reachable when you have a question about it, and it means we would rather do it right than do it twice.
How we work
Three things we will not skip.
Measure before you promise
Detroit houses are old, and almost nothing in them is square. We measure the window, the opening and the stack-back before a single thing is ordered — because a blind that is half an inch off is a blind that comes back.
Put the price in writing
You get a written number before the work starts. If something changes underneath us once the wall is open, you hear about it from us first, not on the final invoice.
Finish it and clean it
The crew that measures is the crew that installs. Drapery hangs level, doors sit true, and we take the boxes and the offcuts with us when we leave.
Detroit, and the neighborhoods around it.
We are based on James Couzens in Northwest Detroit, so the west side is home ground. We work across the city and into the surrounding communities — a free in-home estimate is the same drive either way.
